Young visitors tour Sloan Quarry

Bardon Materials’ Sloan Quarry played host to 120 first grade students along with 15 teachers and aids from John Bass Elementary School earlier this year. The tour, led by 7 Aggregate Industries Southwest Division employees, included an informational viewing of the Sloan Asphalt and Processing plants as well as a Quarry tour.

A stop was made at the “Top of Mountain Overlook” for a question and answer session and to allow the students to get an “up close” look at a quarry loader and 100 ton haul truck. Each student was given an Aggregate Industries backpack containing a copy of Natural Quarry;  A Journey Across The U.S., along with other goodies for the children to enjoy guaranteeing that a grand time was had by all.
